Day 30 and 31

Day 30 Nature

It was blowing a bit of a gale here yesterday, not sure if I captured it well, but really couldn't be bothered to use my brain!
Day 31 Me again
Me again... Feeling weary. Brenton gets home tonight. I am feeling tired of 13 days without him this time. I'm glad school is back and we have routine again. I am feeling like somethings have to change, have some plans in the wind about my life... I need to talk to Brenton about these changes... See what he thinks. I'm just tired and feeling knackered today. But I'll be joining in on the Feb challenges too. I have enjoyed this month of challenges. x

Day 27 and 28

Day 27
Lunch. Well I forgot to take a photo of my lunch as I was so starving I ate and then remembered later. So I took a photo of my late night snack. Naughty but yum. I don't go much for two minute noddles, but these are the best.

The flavours are very very good, there are 5 sachets that you add to them once they are cooked and it's spicy and hot and delish.....

Day 28 Light
We watched the Fireworks last night as part of Tunarama, I had Lexi on my lap, she had her hands over her ears the whole time, but I'm happy with the shots that I did get!!

The three girls are Mia, Kara and one of Kara's friends who was with her, her name escapes me right now... A great night, and the kids loved it!! x

Day 26 Colour

Yesterday I took the girls to Tunarama, we looked around and Mia had a few rides and games, I love this photo of the clowns, I think they are so colourful. Mia was trying to decide which prize to get and Lexi was still working out that you put the balls IN the clowns mouth. There was a huge fish kite flying in the sky and lots of people and fun things..... Mum and Dad picked Mia back up and took her back to the foreshore where they spoilt her with LOTS of rides, which they never really got to do with us when we were kids as Mum was on the Tunarama committee and it was always a busy weekend for them. I think they really enjoyed seeing the joy on her face! x

Day 24 Guilty Pleasure

Right now right here I would say my guilty pleasure is this...

Between Brenton and the girls I don't get much of a look in as far as the telly goes. And I don't care so much really, BUT while Brenton is away at work I have been watching Big Love. I'm on series two and I must say I really really like it. There are a couple of characters who give me the heeby jeebys, Alby in particular is very strange but I do love to watch this very very much. Until True Blood series 5 anyway!! LOL!!
Today we went to Shelly Beach... It was just gorgeous there. By the time we left the house it was well on it's way to 4 o'clock and I could feel that a breeze had gotten into the air since i was outside the last time, but it was so lovely down there. The water was crystal clear, and even thought it is quite a pebbly little beach, we had a great time away from the house.
Mia fossicking for crab claws (stinky), bits of coral, shells, and worm thingies....

Look at that water, and that happy little girl...

 Mia's treasures...

My littlest ratbag.... We had a great time playing together while Mia looked around.
Right before we left Mia and Lexi were sitting on a rock munching on some S&V chips so I went down the rock walkway and dived on in. I have not been in the sea properly this year. I will be making sure I do much more before the season ends. What a lovely lovely feeling it was.....

Day 23 Something old

Day 23 Something old

My Wedding band. Which was my Mum's. And my parents were married in 1966 so it is a few years old. Mum no longer wore it as it was way too small for her. I asked if I could have it as my Wedding band. I think it symbolises to me a long and happy marriage. Well I'm sure they have had heated discussions but am proud of their many years together. I am blessed to have the ring on my finger each and every day... x

Day 22 Your shoes

Day 22 Your shoes

Well I wasn't wearing any... I think feet are gross, but here you go!
Nearly caught up now....
x

Day 21 Reflection

Day 20 Reflection

The girls and I went to Cummins to spend the night with one of my dear friends and her kids. It had been ages since I have seen her and both our hubbies work away, it's silly that neither of us had thought of doing the overnight visit before. I bought her a bottle of Moet for her 40th in October and she wouldn't drink it without me.... Who am I to argue with that??
Anyway, I took a few snaps of her daughter, and I love this one, especially the reflection in her eyes.... And a gorgeous little face to boot!! With the curliest hair, which gives her Mum grief as she isn't loving a brush at the moment!!

And this photo I have named, Headache in an esky.... There wasn't much left at the end of it!!
But alot of laughs and chatter over it all! I think I am still getting over it today! Well worth the headache. Maybe next time I will just stick to one type of drink. I will never learn!! x

Day 20 Someone you love

Day 20 Someone you love

This girl!! I love her!! She is my 'first' daughter. No, not really my daughter, but my best friends daughter. We were 21 when she was born, I waited outside the delivery suite while I could hear her Mum giving birth. I remember feeling so scared for her. It didn't sound nice at all.... They are a beautiful pair, Mother and Daughter. I am so proud of them both, Tyler is growing so beautifully with the firm guidance of her Mum. They live so far away and personally I regret that, I truly wish we were all closer. But such is life, and everyone has their own lives to live. Luckily we have been able to see each other once or twice sometimes three times a year. And it is always the same. Just wonderful!! I cannot wait to get up there and be there in just under 3 weeks. Tyler was just so lovely with my girls.. Putting up with Mia all over her like a rash!! Who wouldn't adore Tyler....
And a few more of the girlies I love!!

Day 19 Sweet

Day 19 Sweet

Thursday was Mum's birthday so we went out to my parents place again for dinner. Noodle Bento and mud cake from woolies for the birthday cake!
Here is the sweetest photo of the day!!
My Dad in his canoe with his three Grandies. And the most remarkable thing is I love the photo BUT they are all looking at the camera. At. The. Same. Time. Amazing truly!!

And one more sweet one! Mum having Happy Birthday sung to her, Lexi cracking it, she was afraid she would miss out on blowing out some candles!!

Also when we were kids, Dad used to make small bread loaves in washed out tomato tins. We all loved them hot out of the oven, they had heaps of crust on them which we also all loved. The crusts are the best bits after all.... So we had fresh bread before our dinner!!
Trying to get them out!

Yum yum!!

Day 18 Something you bought

Very happy I was able to buy a new card reader today, it's only the third I have gone through... Maybe I shouldn't be so rough with things... Anyway...
Early in Feb I am headed to Darwin, and Amber is having her Hen's night while we I (yippee) am there. So on day 18 I bought this bag of goodies!!

An assortment of male appendage goodies.... And have got more coming too!! LOL!! I have straws, whistles, and umbrellas straws too for the weak.... LOL!!!

Also on Day 18 was my Dad's turn for our cooking challenge. Part of the challenge is to make sure you follow the recipe to the letter, which in actual fact I only made that rule up AFTER Dad's meal. I thought it would be obvious if that you are making something that you have never made before that it would make sense to follow the recipe... Dad, oh Dad.....
Looks lovely and wasn't too bad. But the recipe was called Red Lamb Curry. And Dad proudly told me it was Red Lamb Curry. I was pretty excited as I just love Red Curry!!! Although about ten minutes later he admitted that he had used Massaman curry paste instead of Red Curry paste. So that makes it a Massaman curry, right?? But he still called it a Red Curry!! LOL!!! I told him right there and then that you HAVE to follow the recipe, that is the rules!! The new rules!! The meat was a little bit chewy as I think you needed to cook it in batches really quickly over a very high heat, but not sure that he did that!! Poor ol Dad. I'm a bit picky when it comes to food... Just ask my husband!! But it looks lovely and tasted alright, so I'll cut him some slack. This time. Love my Dad so much and we do share a big love for yummy, tasty food!! Bless!!

Day 18....well,

Frickin card readers.... Mine has two prongs that have bent and have to wait for who knows how long to buy me a new one. So no photo today. I did take one of what I bought... It was naughty things from the Bayroom in Lincoln for a Hens night I'm going to in Darwin. Not just any friend, my bestie, my sister girl, one of the people I miss the most not having her near.... So anyway, I took a photo of the bag and a glimpse of the contents... This is a family orientated blog after all!! Be back soon hopefully with photos... Still going to be taking them so will be lots of posts when up and running again!

Day 17 Water

Day 17 Water

Well, today I thought I was stumped. I have been drinking 2 litres of water everyday, as part of a new me!! So I took a photo of my water bottle.
And I thought that would be my photo of the day.
Then......
We got the kids sprinkler out so there was more water....

So then we had more water pics!!
And a bit later this afty we went for tea on the front grass (a fry up from the Pantry), then a play on the beach! MORE WATER!!
It was a little windy but really refreshing....

And now for a couple of 'just because' photos.... I really like these two pics!

So, there you go, our day is filled with more water than I thought. It is really lovely to have all this water around us. Especially the beach!

Day 16 Morning

Day 16 Morning.

The view from outside my work. Not too shabby at all today. It is lovely and warm here atm, and this morning was sparkly and glittery on the water, very special.... (although, even on crappy days I do still love the water and have vowed to not take the closeness of it for granted) I have been using my phone to take photos the last couple of days, we have just been so busy. Brenton's best mate is here visiting from Melbourne, so there has been a bit of fishing and a fair few beers consumed. I have loved that they are together and so very glad that they have stayed away from the pub!! LOL!!

Mia and two of her friends have been going to art classes, as I've mentioned before. They had a class today but when I came home from work this afternoon I called past Cheap as Chips and bought a canvas... or 3!!
Kara was still here, so when Lexi went to bed we started creating. I wasn't going to do one, but Mia wasn't happy with how i put some paint on hers so I used that one. She ended up doing the exact same thing as I started so the tears were for nothing. I am SO glad I did one instead of just talking them through it. I felt so much happier afterward....

Going for it. Paint, glue, glitter, all fun things everywhere....

 Mia's partially done canvas...

 My partially done canvas....

And Kara's partially done canvas... They are all finished and she has taken hers home but I will update soon with out finished pieces... fun fun!! My floors are dirty as, but that can wait til tommorow!!

Day 15 Happiness

Day 15 Happiness

Yesterday Happiness to me was 10 minutes in the car on my own, windows down, wind whipping around, music blaring, peace for just a little while. And it made me happy. I'm not smiling in this photo but I was driving with a big smile on my face.....

Days 12 & 13

Day 12 Close Up

I took a close up of my fridge, I have always had heaps of things on my fridge and it gets kinda messy here and there but I like it like that, and think I will always have it as a sort of notice board... Recipes, first proper fanmily photo, photos of myself as a child, magnets, invites, school things... all sorts.
I did take this photo yesterday but didn't post straight away and then ended up having a few drinkies with Brenton and it all went pear shaped from there... WHOOPS!!
Day 13 In your bag.

In my bag, notepads, tampons, favourite pen, papers, Tony Ferguson munch bar, carrot for a snack at work and heaps of other crap.... way too much to mention!!

Be back tommorow! x

Day 11 Where you sleep

Day 11 Where you sleep

This is my side of the bed. I have to have water beside me when I go to bed, it's just one of my 'things', a stack of books, my phone for the alarm and either Mia when Brenton is at work or Brenton himself when he is home beside me. And bits of Mia's art around the bedhead plus there is a Danielle Quarmby canvas of our family on the wall above our bed. Now THAT is special!! I am so glad she took our photos while we were in Roxby just because we don't live there now. It's rare that I am in the bed on my own. I love my bed and recently invested in a new mattress, and I love that mattress so much!!! xx

Day 10 Childhood

Day 10 Childhood

Childhood is helping Mum do her jobs even if it's not so much of a help at all!! LOL!! Love you Lexi!! x

Day 9 Routine

Day 9 Routine.

After a 2 week break, Lexi is back to childcare so today I got back into the routine of packing her bag....

Arteyrea started running some workshops for kids in the holidays today. I booked Mia and her friend in to go. Today there were two classes, portrait painting and dance. This morning they went to the painting one and had a ball, I didn't know what to expect, but here are the girls with their paintings at Arteyrea....

I thought they did a great job!!

And close ups of Mia's.

I love them!!! I am really happy, I would love to nurture this side of Mia....
They liked the dance this afternoon, but I think the portrait painting was the winner of the day.

til tommorow.... x

Day 8 Your Sky

Day 8 Your Sky

The girls and I drove up to Winters Hill to take this shot. It was blowing an absolute gale, so much so that I had to use all my strength in both my arms to shut the door once I got back in the car. I love my town. It has been 11 months since we have been back and I still am loving the sea, the sea air, and being 'home' Where else would I take my photo today??
We made a trip to the Library today, I have been meaning to take the girls for ages and I thought yesterday that we would venture there today. And of course I took my camera with me.

I love the huge chair they have there. This photo reminds me of Sesame Street from when I was a little girl and there was a girl who used to sit in a HUGE chair and tell stories. Anyone else remember her from the early 80's??

And of course, jumping off the chair into a big pile of cushions and soft toys... (they saw other kids doing it first!! LOL))

And a big comfy lounge to hang around on and read books. They girls were way too excited to actually sit and read with me, but they loved the library and we will be making it a regular part of our weekends if we can!! xx
