A layout for Lexi, about her scar. It's certainly not my best but don't care. It's about being proud and wearing it with pride. I have had this sitting around half finished for ages, bit the bullet last night and finished it. Not my best page, but something about it I love. At least she will know how I feel about her scar, and her surgery. She has a checkup on the 13th of August, and it's weighing on me a little bit. Lexi still has a problem there, and while I'm confident that all will be well eventually, just the lead up to the appointment brings with it a bit of apprehension. We don't know if we will find anything out as far as when her next surgery will be, or if they will say, 'she is coping fine the way she is, see you in another 6 months'. I am wanting surgery to happen sooner rather than later, just for the 'it's over' factor for her, and us. I know she is coping at the moment and in fact is flourishing in all sorts of ways. So we will just wait and see. I'm a little over the wait and see part of it, but whatever is best for Lexi. Anyway, it's on our minds.
Another LO about Lexi and her journey. This was taken the day after her last procedure. Brenton's Mum was with us, which was good for her. Lorraine had been very emotionally distressed when Lexi had her surgery as a newborn, I know it was horrifying for her. So it was important for her (from our point of view) that she be there on the day, so she wasn't at home in Lincoln worrying, she was right there with us. We wouldn't have had it any other way.I took lots of photos of them together this day. Sweet moments.
A LO for Meredith's Misting Challenge at E2C this month. This LO looks very sparkly in real life, and I made a rough looking sun in the corner. I am not minding Winter really but am looking forward to Summer. There is a kind of carefree-ness about Summer living where we live. I don't worry so much about the tea/bath/ bed schedule running to the minute, as Mia has so much fun in the pool. And this year Lexi will be in there lots too, so more fun for us. Again, I love this one!
Ahhhhh, Bucket Heads in the bath! They went through a stage, or Mia did of putting the old (but clean) icecream containers on their heads in the bath! Such fun! I love taking bath photos, I like the lighting from the heat lamps, makes it all warm looking. Oh and nearly forgot, it's a scrap lift from a Scrapbooking Memories mag, can't be bothered hopping off the lounge to tell you which one, but will come back and add it in. Loved the one in the mag and just did my own thing with it. But the design is certainly not mine!
(just adding that it was Scrapbooking Memories Vol 12 No 6, pg 83, Tara Scobie's LO called Cake)

Wednesday I had a big day in the kitchen. Made Chicken and Veg soup, Zucchini slice in the morning, then Banana and Choc Chip Cupcakes/Muffins for after school visitors (HI TERRI lol) and then Spaghetti Bol for tea. The freezer is bulging. I love the soup for my lunch, and the slice is for Brenton's crib, and the leftover Spag Bol sauce has been packed up for easy dinners for Lexi, she loves it, and I pack it full of veggies. When we were kids we used to call Spaghetti Bol, Spaghetti Bog!! I think about what a bog means in Aussie terms, (don't ask) and think it's pretty funny.I STILL go to say bog, it's just ingrained in my head!
Miss Mischief maker!! At the bottom of my bookshelf on the floor, I have extra books that I can't fit in. My bookshelf is overflowing. So Lexi thought it was a fun thing to do to throw them around, and generally have a great time with Mum's books.
Mia at 5 this afty. Would NOT look at the camera for me. But I know all I have to say to get her to look is,
'Look at the camera Mia, or I will only be able to scrap Lexi!' Cruel maybe, but it works. So if she keeps it up, that's what I will be saying.
Nice quiet night here, almost ready for bed. Already had a cup of Cammomile tea, now I'm having a cup of Lemon tea. Radically different from last Friday night... eeep! Don't even feel like a drink. Blechhh!!
