We are really proud of Mia, she is such a caring girl, and is full of compassion. Sure, she gets annoyed too, but on the whole, she is just a beautiful, caring, loving chicky!!

Lexi's birth story.....

Aside from Lexi having her heart problems, I would have tried for VBAC. But I did not want to wait, wait, wait, and be very anxious awaiting her arrival, so I elected to have a c-section again. I was dissappointed at not having a go but mentally, was not prepared for the wait. I just wanted to know when she was being born and also to know that medical staff were there for her. A natural birth may have been beneficial for her lungs, but not for my mental health, so she was born on the 30th of December 2008, around 10 in the morning. A healthy 7lb 8oz. Alot bigger than she was expected to be. I can remember being in theatre and feeling very ill from the very minute they gave me the anaesthetic until about 8 hours later. It was like a rush of nausea that came over me and did not stop all day.I did not get to see her properly until much later except for a brief kiss and a look just after she was born. I vomited ALL DAY. But was strangely fine with not being with her as she had lots of visitors and her Daddy too! When I finally got to see her, she latched straight on for a drink which was totally unexpected... But when I finally got my hands on her it was heaven. Totally blissful. Even though it was a difficult time, I just had drank her in every minute I was with her!

Well we are missing Mia in this photo, but here I am with my baby chick.. I look like crapola, but hey, had been spewing all day remember...

Having her first breastfeed. We were so happy with her, she was not expected to be awake enough to feed. She was and loved it!! I had to remember to hold my breast back from her nose as when she didn't get enough oxygen her monitors beeped like crazy!! oops!!!  My second precious daughter!!

Mia's Birth Story

Following Tatum's and Crystals lead of sharing their birth stories, I thought I would share mine too... Besides the fact that I'm having trouble uploading photos from my camera at the moment which is making me Grrrrr, so can't post any new photos...

Anyway!
I had a great normal pregnancy, all went smoothly. But this kid just didn't want to come out. I was booked in for an induction to have our baby, who was not wanting to make an appearance by herself. At 40 weeks 7 days I went in to be induced at 8pm only to find another woman in labour so they wouldn't induce me until she had had her baby, and then she had to have her baby by 10pm or no induction. They did not want two labouring women during the night. So back home, to went back in the morning for gels to be inserted. Nothing, Nada, zip, zilch. A few period pain type feelings. Lots of walking around the hospital, and then more gels. And still nothing happened. Back home again for the night. So, back to the hospital again for one more lot of gels. Same story. The Dr tried to break my waters but could not feel them at all... So nothing happening at all... Back home again and told to be back at the hospital in the morning. I woke up really early and started prodding my belly, and could not feel the baby moving at all, so rang the hospital, and went straight in. Straight on the monitor and yes, the baby was fine, just not playing my game. By this time I was 40 weeks + 10 days over. The Midwife mentioned to me about the fact that I hadn't repsonded at all to induction methods, had I thought about a c-section? Nope, but was ready to have this bubba... and soon. My Dr walked in and told me straight that he had rang the WCH about me and that after 3 lots of gels something would happened if it were going to, and that seeing as bubs was so overdue, it was time for her to be born by c-section, in an about an hour.... WOW, it was a decision that was taken out of my hands, and to be honest, I was fine with it. I felt pretty stressed by this time, just waiting for the labour to begin and any signs of labour. I just did not have any signs at all... So Mia was born, and we were so happy. I had the afternoon of feeling fairly crappy, and quite intensely itchy everywhere, but when I finally got my hands on her about an hour after she was born, it was the best feeling ever. I could not stop looking at her. I can vividly remember the Midwife coming in, squeezing my nipple gently and then attaching Mia for her first feed, and we never looked back!!

Mia with her proud Daddy, not long after she was born. I was still in theatre. My gorgeous little chick.

And here I am in all my glory!! LOL! But I could not stop looking at her... Her beautiful little face. My lovely firstborn, what a feeling it is!

After sadly leaving Camp Mojo on Sunday (it seemed to go fast) we returned to Sydney. Tatum navigated the traffic perfe4ctly and dropped Lauren and I at our hotel along with all of our luggage while she and Lou returned the hire car. We checked in and took the luggage upstairs and then went and had a drink... If we had of turned left as we walked out of the hotel we would have struck gold with choices of watering holes but we turned right and it took us a good 10 mins before we ended up at Cheers Bar. A decidedly blokey spot but good to quench the thirst! The Cider went down perfectly! We went back and met Lou and Tatum and went for a Chinese Banquet, which was nice, the wonton soup was my fave part! YUM! Then off for a wander, where we ended up at Hard Rock Cafe. Can't wait to go to another one now. We headed back after a few cocktails, to bed and some much needed rest.

Lauren's banana pancakes on Monday morning.

A top that Lou liked and I snapped a photo of in Sportsgirl.

On a ferry around the harbour.

 Lovely Lou.

CAMP MOJO WEEKEND part 1

Warning!!!!
Lots of photos coming up!!
And not in any particular order either, too lazy for that!!!!
THE COFFEE MAN!! And to think he was worried if we would all buy coffee.... Did we what!! Sunday morning!

Loving these chicks!!! At a winery maybe or the info centre we went to Fri morning!!

 Crystal mucking around!

AM with her special hat made just for her by Jodi, funny funny night!!

Jodi and Marelle up on stage and a laughing with tears Tatum across from me. Who knew asking such an innocent question such as 'hey what's a merkin??' would start something so funny??  And nope I didn't know what one was!! But I sure as hell do now!! lol!!

Our driving babe, Tatum, navigating Sydney like a pro!! It was such a treat to have our own (rental) car... And such a great person chauffering us around!!

 Scrapwiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitch!!!
OMG, this woman is all that I thought she would be and a little bit more!! So so blessed to have finally met her irl, we didn't chat heaps but we all had scrapping to occupy us too..... But the little snippets we had, just confirmed that yep, she's the BOMB!!!!! Mwah!!

Wine tasting Fri morning... love these two!! Fun, funny, smart, talented... I could just go on!! Just miss them both mega and mega!!

Snapped this pic of Peta and Sar and I love it, so I'm including it here... So awesome to meet Sar for the first time too, she is so exactly who I thought she would be like! I just love Sar's philosophy on scrapping and told her so... She has a great style on her pages, and she cranked out over 30!!!!! Legend!! Great person!! xx

Anyone for a glass of MOET with your burger?? Yep, as a matter of fact we will!! Very noice people, very noice!!

I don't like champagne, but that's because I've only drank crap and not the real thing. Converted.

Table of LO's for challenges! Think I have one there somewhere or other.

Ange and Marelle doing their 'Glee' performance.. The facials of all the Glee performers were fantastic, everyone got right into it!!!

Sar and Peta having nibbles and wine on the floor in the little room off the big scrap room. It was a bit of  'WTF' when we found out we couldn't eat or drink out of open glasses at our table. We weren't a group of kids..... Anyway rules are rule...

AM, Crystal and Bridge checking out photos after a crazy photo session...

Sar and I! Yay, but I made this one B&W to try to help me with those chins!! Love this chick!

 More LO's.

My friends from the Scrapbooking Memories forum. What can I say? I was so so so happy to meet all of these fabulous women who I have known over the last probably 6 years. Most of us have shared so much with each other and to finally meet and hug these women was such an overwhelming experience. Even Loz drove up to see us too... Very special. Someone needs to have a little more faith in herself (and other people too for that matter) but it's all ok. A little mis-communication but it really is ok!!

OMG!! When Anne-Marie walked in the scrap room and saw me and Tatum, she basically screamed out our names in excitement!! Man, was I excited too... This chick just rocks!!

Crazy group photos!! What were you doing Eb?? What a gorgeous bunch of women in these photos. Never met them before and they probably never heard of me but how beautiful, friendly, bloody funny, caring, the whole kit and caboodle really!!

Oh and one last one of wine tasting...
Back later in the week with more photos.... This is way enough for now!! x

Our precious little Lexi not long after she was born having her 1st Echo outside of my tummy. I wasn't able to be there with her, but lucky for her, Daddy and Big Sis were there with watchful eyes... The drugs they gave me when I had her made me oh so sick, and I couldn't walk anyway. I can vividly remember whoever was in me in theatre apologising profusely as I felt the drugs 'coming on' and I felt so ill from it all.... And I felt ill all day... But she had so many visitors so she wasn't alone...

The day after her surgery, what a sight for a hormonal Mum. My poor little darling. She still amazes me. I wonder how she got through it all. There but for the Grace of God go I. I know there are so many Heart Angels amongst us, and I feel for their Mums and Dads, we are so blessed to have our Lexi, and don't take it for granted that we have either of our girls.... But this was a sight. I had seen Lexi's boyfriend George (we love you George!!!)  the day before after her surgery ( thanks to Mel and Justin for letting us look at George post surgery, and Mel and I knew each other in a round about way) but nothing prepares you for what you see... and our little angel had her chest re-opened post surgery... so scary!!

And here is that little battered and beaten little angel, looking as if it never happened.. Lexi we love you so much. Crazy bloody kid!! Mum and I are taking her to Adelaide tomorrow for her 1st Cardiology checkup in one year. I am a little nervous. I have totally put it to the back of my mind until this afternoon... I can't wait to go and just get through it. The stats, the echo, the registrar and then finally to hear the words that we so need to hear from her Cardiologist Terry.
I think she is doing so well, but she has an unrelenting cough when she is ultra active. I hope it is just a part of her and nothing to worry about. You never know. I just want to know. Our darling little ratbag... Such a strong social little rabbit. If there is something wrong with her, I know she can be fixed, she has most certainly been through the absolute worst, but would rather her surgery journey was over....

Back with the report soon... Thanks for listening.
